I'm thinking about putting nitrous on my car 2004 mustang with 60,xxx miles. I still have the stock intake. do you guys think this is a good idea will the motor live long with a 75hp shot on it?. I'm not a big nitrous fan but for the money you cant beat it.
Also my car is a stick and when I let off to shift am I gonna get a nitrous backfire?, I don't know a whole lot about nitrous but I don't want to blow the intake. I'm gonna use a full throttle switch, should I also use a window switch? A lot of questions, but it's my DD and I don't want to fuck it up.

here is the kit I am looking at http://www.holley.com/07006NOS.asp
Is there any difference between the Sniper kits and the normal kits.

if you use a full throttle switch and miss a shift you may be screwed... using a button may be a better idea

A 75 shot is fine Gary. x2 though on the button. Get a shifter knob with a button on it so you can disengage it between shifts. Just save up for that damn blower!!!!

I'm thinkin maybe a full throttle switch and a button just to be sure both would have to be on in order to spray. those damn blowers cost to much I'm broke lol the kit I can get through work and they'll take it out of a couple pay checks, my price on it is around $180 so it's not to bad.
... maybe i'll wire a cut out botton to the clutch switch so when the clutch is pushed it kills the nitrous

Using a WOT switch and a window switch is a good way to go.
Make sure to use a FPSS.

The wot switch and window is the only way to go. You don;t want to spray your stuff when its not at wot you get some crazy distrabution thru the intake when the throttle plates partially opened. Seen alot of people have nitrous backfires that way.

OK i have all the solenoids on and everything is ready to go. here is what I have, full throttle switch and msd window switch set 2500rpm to 5000rpm does that sound like a good rpm range?

also I mounted the nozzle in the bottom of the intake tube it's about 4.5-5" away from the throttle blade is that enough room, it's as far back as I could go without hitting the curve

5600

Set it at 5600.
If you set it lower the car will likely "nose down" waiting for
your shift.

I had a 00 with an h pipe, cat back, cold air, pullies, 3.73 gear and a 125 dry kit and it went 11.90@114 all day on welds w/et streets.

What ever the rev limter is set at set the nitrous off pill 200 rpm below that and you'll be fine. then it won't nose over on shifts an you won't hurt it if ya miss a gear or something.

It my old stick shift car I used to have the 2 step set at 3800 and the nitrous window switch on a 3500 I'd let it spray while banging on the limiter.. sounded nasty as hell but prob not good on parts lol.

I don't have a Mustang, just giving you some ideas ;)

It's an LTx car.

Get it tuned if you haven't. You can run about a 125 shot without issues, 75 shot is safer though on the modulars. Had I seen this earlier I would have told you to get the direct port. Worth the extra money IMO.

What are you putting down with the nitrous now? Track times before and after? How do you like it?

I haven't spayed it yet, I took it to no et and was gonna run a couple on motor and broke the axle. I'll probably try it out in the next couple weeks and I'll let you know
