500MHz, 14.1 screen, DVD, 30GB HDD only 256ram (both can be upgraded) but it's running win2k with all the security updates and antivirus so it's fine. Comes with a 3Com xJack NIC and a cisco 802.11b wireless card.
$100.00 OBO

This was my buddies laptop, it has a few cracks in the case but they are all on the bottom and really don't have any effect on the use of the system.
I used to have the same machine running XP with 512mb ram but that was before all those updates and shit.

nope, if I did I would have already. It runs Win2k fine as is but I think the max is only 512 anyway and it takes PC-100
When this machine was new I ran XP with 512mb but that back in the day before SP1 even came out.

I can't believe no one wants this, the AC adapter is worth $20.00!!!
It's not a bad laptop, I owned the exact same model for a good two or three years.
I have a car adapter I can throw in if you need it for tuning.
I upgraded mine to a DVD-CDRW combo drive (I found a Compaq model that the doors swapped)
All he did with this is stream mp3's and net radio to his back deck (hottub) for years.
I did check crucial.com and the max ram is only 512mb so it's defiantly not a gaming machine but I'd give it to my kid or use it as a thin client or load up Linux and I'm sure it would work fine. (win2k runs fine as is) I'll pop office on it if you need it.
The laptop is a celron with 128k of cache BUT the 500MHz celron has SSE extensions so it performs as a PIII not a PII
