If im going to square my jets at 82N/82F on a big shot single stage plate, would i treat my timing retard the same as if it were a 200 shot(73N/82F) according to the NOS recomendations.
Also, Im running at BG220 pump with one regulator, T- block off after the regulator to my solenoid 6 -7 psi... is this sufficient?

you need a sep reg for the fuel side of the nitrous. and take out more timing if your not sure and go by the plugs and they will tell you what you need.

so why do i need a seperate regulator if im still running off the same pump? I have been seeing a lot with this 2 regulator setup on one pump, but dont understand it fully?

so you can adust n20 fuel pressure for tuning. also helps regulate when the n20 comes on

im a n00b to nitrous, ill admit...

Im still not 100% sure on how to flow the fuel for the n20 side. I know u use a .070 pill, but do i need to make a line to hook up after the fuel solenoid and hold that .070 pill?

i use the same fuel jet that i spray with,i took the fitting from an old nos plate,i put the fuel line after the soliniod in to a bottle, then spray it to adjust the fuel pressure flowing(nitrouis bottle off and no nitrouis in the system)

93 square
900 bottle
5.5 fuel psi
Hot ticket. :)
I also flow the jet I'm using. I also use a spare plate fitting, the jet, a a female/female piece from guage to fuel line. The guage is on a T fitting. both sides male.

the instuctions in the nos kit make it like a 8-10 jet spread or so on the plate wtih a bigger fuel jet than nitrous jet. when you square them you are running a 93/93 jets. instead of a 82/91 or so like they recommend. its usually too fat if you dont square them. but every combo is diff, what works for some dont work for others.

cause a 1/4lbs of fuel pressure is huge on a nitrous kit. so you have to be able to regulate it. if your using one regulator its usually too much fuel pressure on the nitrous side cause the carb needs more fuel psi than the nitrous side does.

also if you do a search on yellowbullet.com for a 82 square jet tune up there's pages of people who've done it and can recommend timing/ psi ect. if all else fails ask in the nitrous forum. there's no better amount of knowledge then the bullet. all your tech questions can be answeared there.

In a pinch when you dont have a flow meter I've shut to bottle off and made sure it was off.. fired the car up held it at 2500-3k then sprayed it thru the jet and plate into the motor and adjusted fuel pressure that way. It works but make sure you get it good and warm and clean the fucker out after cuz it'll get all loaded up.

why not just spray it removed from the plate at the ground or something and adjust it that way

When you order a N20 kit, the intructions for jetting are just "recommendations".... Start safe and read the plugs from there. If you have to big of a fuel jet you're letting unburnt"raw" fuel sit on top of the piston and you'll pop a head gasket or worse everytime. Like JQUICK said, read it by the plug and make sure you use 2 regs. I have my N20 set at 5.5 psi and my engine set at 6.5 psi.... 1/4 will make a huge difference on the N20 side of things! Being to rich can be just as dangerous as being to lean!!! Start with putting a MLS or cometic head gaskit on the engine!! Second, pray for forgiveness on wrongful decisions!!!!! LMAO

What are you gunna use for a jet holder then? Reason I would do it that way is then your fuel pressure will be exactly the same when the kits flowing as to when your setting it. If you have a jet holder to build a flow gauge then obviously you would do that instead.

Very true. I did nothing but an intake change on mine, went from a squared jetting to now having the fuel jet up 5. When i was tuning with the old intake i baught an assortment of jets and a couple sets of plugs. I would run it, check hte plug and step down 2 or 3 jet sizes untill i hit square, and then adjusted the fuel pressure. The price of a few jets is much cheaper than head gaskets and pistons.
I never thought a simple intake change would make such a huge difference. I got lucky and didn't hurt anything running lean, but it was a lesson learned...anytime you change ANYTHING start from scratch.
