Get some p/p 5.3 heads and a decent cam (ie 231/237 cam). That combo will give you a little more compression and net you close to 90rwhp.

I would either go budget, and get some Livernois ported LS6 heads with a decent cam (~$1800 or so), or spend the cash and get some ET or AFR heads (~$3000 or so). If you are giong for ported stockers, I can't see getting anything onther than the Livernois heads.

My car picked up over 100 RWHP with their Stage 1 heads, 224/228 114 cam, headers, and an x-pipe. My best stock ET was 13.4 @ 104 mph and new best is 12.3 @ 119.9 mph with those mods and lack of traction.

You can reproduce that mph with just a cam swap and bolt on's with little ease. :peelout:

nothing wrong with a 98. bigger injectors, metal (sumpable) gas tank, and last time i checked u can get a set of perimeter bolt patriot heads for $900, or just upgrade the valve cover and coils if you want more of a selection. :dontknow:

never heard of that and havent had a problem myself. but im sure if anything it can be flashed to the newer stuff just like when i get a tune for my truck.

Interesting, I believe I said 119mph is a very easily obtainable mph going "cam only." I never mentioned picking up 115rwhp. :dontknow:

Also, look many of the cam only cars making 420-450rwhp...obviously they are sporting bolt ons such as headers and a good intake (which is a given when modding these cars anyways) butthey are running stock heads, stock bottomends and at one time were making 290-320rwhp stock.
