View Full Version : Over expression of your sexuality in public

Let start off my saying I don't have a problem with Gay or Lesbian folks. I work Ann Arbor. The city is very well known for it's liberal views. Here is the problem as I see it.
1. Gay Men or Women showing extreme amounts of PDA<public displays of affection>.
2. Bumper stickers. One or two is fine, but 5-10. Come on!
This may not seem like a big deal until you see it. I see it on a daily basis. I just get tired of having Homosexuality shoved down my throat<no pun intended>.
I don't go around with bumper stickers saying I love p*ssy. I don't feel the need to make out with my GF in public places to be the center of attention.
I was at Barry's Bagel awhile back. Two gay men where in line waiting for thier food also. One decided to go next door and get a book. Before he left he kissed his partner. Not just a peck on the lips or cheek. It was a full on mouth kiss with tongue.
Now mind you this place was packed with families. There was no reason for that. They just wanted to cause a scene which they suceeded to do.
Now I'm not saying that Gay's and Lesbians are the only ones.
Straight folks do it to. I've been known to say "Get a room" if I see to people going at it. I mean come the fuck on! I don't need to see you and your old lady making out in a bar or restaurant. 9 times out of 10 the people are gross.
Sorry for the rant.
Just keep in mind the next time you are face fucking with your partner. Not everyone likes to see it. :wavey:

agreed
whether its homo/lesbo/hetero get yourself a room nobody wants to watch that. And by that I mean the overdoing of it, not a peck on the cheek or quick kiss.

As far as PDA (public display of affection) is concerned, I agree that regardless of whether the couple are of the same sex, or different sexes, it can be a bit much. I mean, I kiss and hug my wife in public (maybe even the random ass grab too) but we don't suck face and make everyone else feel unconfrotable. At least I hope not anyway. But the people I see at the bar walking around with their arms are their significant other, sucking face the entire time, dry humping on chairs/bar, etc is way uncalled for. There is a time and place for everything and there is also a line where some shit is acceptable, and some things are not. Excessive PDA is NOT acceptable...regardless of the sex of the parties that are participating in the acts.
In regards to PDA with same sex couples, I think that the world as a whole is a lot less tolerant of this...and for good reason...it's not natural. Don;t get me wrong, I am not a gay basher (my wife's brother, my brother-in-law is gay and I love him like my own brother) but I do not approve of such displays on TV, in public, etc. I also do not approve of that way of life in general. While this may be selfish on my part, I don't think that I should have to explain to my 4 year old daughter why "Bob and Steve" are kissing, making out, etc. Why should I? We are the norm, not them. They want to be treated equally and have equal rights, they need to be equall and normal. The whole "I was born this way" seems like a bullshit cop out to me and I'm not falling for it. Your liking people like you is YOUR choice, so you are going to have to deal with the concequences of your CHOICES.
Gay pride decorations (blue square with a yellow "=" sign, upside down triangle, rainbows, etc) should NEVER be displayed on your home, vehicle, etc. My brother-in-law likes guys and he doesn't act like a queen (and you'd never know he was gay unless he told you) and he doesn't have any of that shit on his car. And I told him that if he ever did, I would take it off of there and kick his ass for putting it on. Why do you need those are your car? Those things scream, "Hey, I'm gay!!!!! Please make a victim of a hate crime!!!!!!" And as far as I am concerned, the same goes for political party and/or vehicle favoritist stickers. For example, the "Piss on Chevy/Ford/Mopar" stickers or the "I voted for Bush/Kerry" stickers. Those are magnets for idiot extremists to smash your windows out. You'll never see anything like that on any vehicle of mine. No thanks, I make enemies just fine on my own.
So yeah, as far as PDA, I agree with you, Matt.

Excessive PDA is bothersome regardless who is doing it. I was at a Chinese restaurant a few weeks back and a thirty-something straight couple were going at it. I just thought it was in very poor taste. We were trying to eat for crying out loud.
A single strategically placed sticker will do - same as with the Motown stickers. :)

I'm with you 100% on this one. I went to cedar point one day on fathers day weekend, had no clue there was some gay day shit going on there. Everyone's shirts said" I"m a fag, i'm a queer, i'm a homo, etc etc etc" And the guys/girls were acting like 12 year old boys/girls pawing all over each other and being extra dramatic.

For years I thought the blue square with a yellow equals sign was the lesbian bondage symbol. Turns out I was wrong, it's the HRC (Human Rights Campaign) logo. Who knew? :dontknow:

lol. Fathers Day has been Gay Day at Cedar Point for many years. It's covered in the papers and if I remember correctly even mentioned on Cedar Points web site.
Gay Day is not just about catering to gay customers it's also for their employees, which in case you hadn't noticed, they have a healthy number of.
And yes, the drama is in the air, as well as better music and more colorful decorations. :duck:

PDA is what it is. It's just another thing we all have a tolerance level for and it's usually based on two factors.
1. How prudish our home/regligous up bringing was? There is no right answer but that's usually where the baseline comes from.
2. How good looking is the portion of the couple that you would be attracted to is? We typically are more willing to cut them some slack if we'd (as the observer) hit it too. :D
On a serious note though, just keep an eye out for kids in the area becuase you may be causing dad and mom to have to explain some things that they aren't ready to explain, even if the kids are ready to hear about it hahaha. :D

You absolutely can start a sentence with the word "and." You can also start sentences witht he word, "but."
For what it's worth, the vast majority of the "sentences" on this message board are actually fragments. So most of the rules are broken right there.

My best friend is the bitch in a 7 year committed relationship. I call him "cocksucker" all the time. He calls me "breader". Hes a hairdresser, his husband is a computer guy for GM.
Ive found that gay people are the MOST accepting people when it comes to jokes, ect.
Upbringing has a lot to do with it. My old mans a homophobe. It did take me a little bit to get used to them cuddling and smooching but i just had to think ,
" who the fuck am i to be grossed out if they are happy" . Its still wierd for that first milisecond, but im used to it now.
Now 2 girls making out? I dont care what they look like, i think as a modern society we need to encourage this act in public as often as we can. Its a man law.
