talking about amway lol..
Pretty good interview for the most part, and the interview confirmed what I previously thought. He's not Jennifer Granholm.

After listening to him on the radio, I think he actually knows what he's talking about. Grand rapids is a pretty cool city...If he could pull it off over here it would be awesome.

Drew was all over how much he hated amway the other day and how much he would tear into DeVos. He was very much more polite and reserved today, shows what a paper tiger he is, no balls at all when the guy is in front of you. Also it shows how ignorant his comments were too. Mike asked the questions he said he would, showed more spine than Drew by a mile.
As for griling DeVos, did not happen. He came off really well. Seriously put a dent in your girl's ass libby. He really exposed what a BLATANT lie the china-amway commercial is.

It's kinda like listening to a set of speakers. One could say they sound great. But in comparison to what? You need a frame of reference.
I look forward to watching the debates.

The only thing I don't like about Devos is his religous leanings.
Anyone that believes in ID has a screw loose somewhere IMO.

I am not religious.....not much anyway. Don't go to church or anything. Yes, I am a right winger though. I am just saying why can't people believe what they want? I always hear people bitching about "forcing beliefs" on people, yet they won't let people form their own opinion about how the earth, and life on it, came about. Personally, I am still not yet sure what I believe. All I know is that we got here some way, and thats good enough for me.
If someone believes the earth is 5,000 years old, let them.

You're missing the issues.
Intelligent Duhsign is a religous belief on how life and earth was formed. There is no scientific proof of ID.
The theory of evolution is a scientific theory deduced from using the scientific method.
People can believe what ever they want (freedom of religion) but to teach religous belief in a science class of a public school is bullshit. Have a religion class if you want.
Freedom of religion means all religion so lets also teach all forms of creationism if you're going to get stupid with ID. How about the various American Indian creation beliefs? Muslim? Hindu? Where should we stop?

So let's make sure we teach all the versions of evolution. As for people believing crap about the earth being 5000 years old. I would like you to prove to me it isn't 5000 years old! I also want you to prove to me that 1. there wasn't a 'creator' involved in the beginning of the world. Show me whose writings show it. Show me the historical evidence of who was around when the earth was created. Also show me where we are creating new life out of nothing. And while you're at it, show me how me believing that an omnipotent being creating the world in 7 days is completely ludicrous compared to you believing that a spec (which we have no clue where this spec came from or how it decided to do the things it did) got so up tight on itself that it exploded and in the process of that massive explosion started life on it's great journey. You act like evolution is a science. Microevolution is a science. Evolution is a theory, belief, unproven idea. Now why are we teaching something that isn't historically proven, can't be replicated, and can't be proven with certainty?
I. The scientific method has four steps
1. Observation and description of a phenomenon or group of phenomena.
2. Formulation of an hypothesis to explain the phenomena. In physics, the hypothesis often takes the form of a causal mechanism or a mathematical relation.
3. Use of the hypothesis to predict the existence of other phenomena, or to predict quantitatively the results of new observations. 4. Performance of experimental tests of the predictions by several independent experimenters and properly performed experiments
The furthest Evolution has ever gotten is step 3 (if even that far). So why are we teaching it again? If teaching creation/ID is such a retarded thing since we can't prove it ever happened, I guess we better start changing all the textbooks that teach evolution.

Isnt God life? I really would like to know how he came about. You are arguing that evolution makes no sense, and that believing there is some magical being that came out of nowhere makes much more sense. Religion was invented by people that couldnt explain nature. Religion was turned into a mind control by people long long ago. They did a wonderful job, because it is still working, although on a much smaller percentage of people these days.

I'm not arguing that it makes more sense. I'm arguing that it makes the same amount of sense. So to teach evolution as a fact of science is wrong. It's not been observed and it's as of yet non repeatable. I never said God creating things out of nothing was a simplistic theory. He said in his posts that evolution was a scientific fact based on the scientific theory. It's not. It's a theory which means it's not a fact. It's even called a theory in the text books, BUT it's taught as a fact. That to me is wrong.

So is it wrong to state that God is real, because that would mean you are stating it as a fact, not a theory.

I'm pretty sure that you dont need to be in science class to state a fact. In any case, isnt the arguement here that they should teach intelligent design if they are going to teach evolution? If thats the case, they would be doing it in a schoolroom of some kind.
They have churches to teach you all about intelligent design, why would they need to teach it in school? There are a million churches to go study ID, wouldnt teaching it at a school be a bit redundant?

I dont think its a bad thing to touch on intelligent design in public school. What does it really hurt? You give kids the tools they need to make their own educated choice. Isn't that what school is for? As long as the school isn't forcing the kids to practice a religion or lobbying for a specific religion, it doesn't hurt anything. Leave it to liberals to try to ban or eliminate an idea they dont understand.

While I don't disagree in spirit, the same charge could be levied against the so-called "Christian" right - and their efforts to introduce religious beliefs in the classroom under the guise of science.

I dont think that anyone tries to pass it off as science, I Just think that most people in this country follow some kind of religion and even the Muslims believe in the same one God. So its not that much of a stretch to talk about it in school.

There is a place to learn about religion. CHURCH. They even divide all the different beliefs up into seperate churches so you can learn all about whatever version of religion they are trying to sell.

No one understands religion, if they did, everyone would believe the same thing.
