Since I broke the c4 and im not looking to be going thru a broken tranny stage next year.. ill spill the beans so i can get a accurate answer..

My car is :

mexican block 331 half filled.(hardblock)
yea i told everyone it was a truck motor.. i even wipped grease all over the block and heads when i put it in so it looks like shit so no one would second guess me..

yes it had stock heads on it before, now it has some ported vic juniors..

set is as follows..

331 11.2 to 1
victor junior heads ported
super victor intake
homebuild 800 holley dp
custom solid grind bump stick
all you basic msd 6al bla bla

has factory 5.0 shorties now but will have 1 3\4 or 1 7\8 not sure yet primarys w\ 3" x-pipe added this winter.

Car has now a big shot plate but will be upgraded to a pro fogger this winter. Should be spraying in the range of 250+

The passes i made at the rental were on motor. well all but one. the pump was to small and kept losing pressure... ran a 12.0 but low mph etc..

Car should weight about 2900 all said and done with me in it next year.

Gear change will be made pending trans choice.. current is 3.73 with 28" tire

Now not this winter but next i plan to upgrade to a dart block.. so the block wont be a issue..

Should I have a C4 built up for it or switch to a glide? The car should make sufficant Tq to run the glide.. but has anyone switched to a glide from a c4 im looking for a comparison between the two..

and all opinons im open too..

i ran a c4, the car is gonna be a total turd on the motor with a power glide in it...renegade guys go mid 8s with c4 at 3300lbs...you could go to a turbo 400 but a glide i think would be a mistake though...the motor dont make enough torque to make one work right...

Save and get a nice c4 and be done. You shouldnt have problems with a built c4 in your car IMO.

A good C4 should be reliable into the high 9s, and the car will for sure be faster with it. I think a glide will slow the car down. I really like the TH400's too, but they're super heavy. A good C4 should work in that car until you get deep into the 9s.

yea, i'd stick with a good c-4, or get a th400 if you find a good deal on one. i dont think i'd put a glide in a mustang unless it was a turbo car, or deep into the 8's. jquick has a good point with renegade cars....

Turbo 400 FTW. Probably the easiest to get a strong unit without spending
shitloads of money.

I got a th400 for sale! Has gone 8.78 at 161 and 50+ low to mid 9 passes without missing a beat!

Twisted the input shaft.. which broke the stator in the convertor and cracked the pump..
