A guy at work went to start his truck up last night and it had no oil pressure from start up. It ran fine going to work and then...no oil pressure. I thought I heard these trucks had a problem with the oil pumps on the front of the motor. I am going to start looking at it after work today, just wondered if anyone ran into this.

does it sound like no oil pressure, or is the gauge just showing no pressure?


first thing toi do is throw a mechanical gauge on it to verify oil pressure(or lack there of)

up to 2000 ls1's had pump problems. mine went bad. it would either have high pressure or no pressure. I know this sounds dumb but most of them would regain pressure if you blipped the throttle right at startup.

I was going to throw a gauge on there to see if it did have pressure or not. I thought I heard about the oil pumps taking a crap on them. Thanks for your help guys.
