View Full Version : Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii?
What's everyone think? What's everyone have/getting.
I personally am super-excited for the Wii. Getting to play Blades of Steel and Mike Tyson's Punch Out is gunna be awesome. Nintendo really did good this time.
PS3 seems WAY too overpriced (even though it's really damn sweet), and Xbox 360 is definatly awesome.

gotta do both, but if it was just for one ill do a 360 and go buy a nintendo for 20 bucks and play mike tyson like the good ol days. Not sure if your a 1080p fan as well as xbox live arcade has a ton of old school games mk3,street fighter 2, contra (coming soon), and even uno. 360 gets updated and ms is giving alot of support for them I say its the best bang for the buck

I absolutely love my 360 and I haven't even gotten xbox live yet. It's a great system at a great price imo. PS3 will be awesome and unfortunately I will probably shell out the 600 dollars on it. I haven't heard much about the nintendo one.

I love my 360 and I can't wait for Guitar Hero to come out. I haven't gone Live yet but I'll probably do that soon...

that thing is AWESOME. plays gamecube games. you can download nes, snes, and n64 games, the controller is AWESOME. Plus you have Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Sonic games coming out for it. Very cool. As usual, the other will have better graphics, but Nintendo will have the classic titles

very true!
and the wii is kinda geared towards a younger crowed overall but you still do get a few sports titles but not as many good fps/adventure games
AND EVERYONE GET LIVE I WANNA PLAY THE NEW NEED FOR SPEED WITH A FEW MM GUYS!!!

360 looks nice but I think I will end up getting the PS3. Sony usually has more of the games I want to play. At least that was true with the PS2/Xbox war. So should it stay true I'll go with them. besides, if I can use it as a blu ray too? that cannot be all bad

I already preordered my Wii, I guess you can say im a nintendo loyalist, but i have always prefferred mario, zelda, and games that are similar, i also like that nintendo caters somewhat to children, haveing a 6 year old son, and a 3 year old daughter, i know i can find something for them to play along w/ me and not worry about exposing them to something they arent ready to understand,

All 3. That's how i do it. When they first come out, buy two and sell them on Ebay, make your profit and have your very own paid for. I do it this way all the time and seems to work.

i think sarah went to game stop and preordered it a month ago, but ebay has some preorders that aren't too outrageous

Check some prices on blu-ray players. if $600>$1,000, i got taught the wrong math.
Nintendo caters to 5-12 year olds? The new Metroid and Zelda games are VERY adult oriented.
Microsoft has ZERO intentions of lowering their price when the PS3 comes out. It's still $200 less, why cut the price?
Do you have ANY basis for your statement? or did you just randomly type words and hope they were right?

I can't stand giving Bill Gates another dime or I would already have a 360. Probably go PS3 since they are the only 1180P with HD outs. Should look kick ass on the bigscreen

Just becareful because the last dashboard update bricked some modded 360s. They can tell when the firmware was changed apparently.

well, feel happy about buying a 360 then. Companys take a hit on every system they sell. most of the time $20-30, sometimes more. But they make that cash back in the software. Just buy 3rd party software (ea sports, activision) and you can keep the cash you give gates to a minimun. Not that it matters. He literally can't give his cash away fast enough.

I'll go PS3 just because I've always owned the Sony line. I have other systems, but I buy them when they are older. I just rebought a N64 just so I could play Bond.

I loved ocarina of time soooooooo much. Can't wait for wii to come out with the zelda game
I tried to do a pre sale thing for PS3 missed it. Store only had 13 reservations. They are going for double on ebay. I was going to do that. A nice little investmant. i would go with wii though (super cheap and really cool features like mentioned above) and 360.

ive been holding back from buying a 360 to see what PS3 is going to offer, ive always had the PS systems but sold my PS2 last year for an XBOX and am still playing that, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon > * :laugh:

Both PS3 and Xbox 360 are monsterous systems. Only thing Sony is gunna run into is a very hard platform to write games for. That's what did Dreamcast in. It was a far better system than PS1 and N64, but it was a pain in the ass to write software for. Nintendo will be easy cuz it's esscentially a more powerful Gamecube. Same bios and everything.

i would have to say Sony has more fire power than sega though,i doubt it would ever meet the same fate... all we can do is wait and see

i use to be a die hard nintendo fan. then the 64 came out and with the exception of golden eye i never played a new nintendo console again. nintendo now days is definately geared towards the younger generation without a doubt. metroid and a more grim link doesn't make for an adult console. regardless the idea you can download classic games is nice but there is also a fee.
360 is a decent system. with all new systems rarely do you see the potential right out of the gate. regardless it has great features with alot of room for growth but it doesn't even compare with internals of the ps3. as stated much like the demise of the dreamcast and saturn will that be a problem? i doubt it nowdays because of the following.
the only real advantage any system could have over another is licensing but now the dollars are so large that you can get your grand theft auto on any console. the lack of ps3's on the market is the only thing that will kill sony for this christmas season. sony lost alot of money with the ps2, maybe that's why they are being so stingy on the release of the ps3.

the big problem is that teams like EA sports will have to write 2 different versions of every game they make; which is no big deal for them cuz they have the man power. It's the smaller teams like Bungee and Rockstar that might not. Just like Rockstar wrote games for PS2 before putting the same title out for Xbox. People bought PS2 even though Xbox is a better system because of games like God Of War, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, and Grand Theft Auto.
