Ok, I have a zex wet kit on my 2001 gt stang. Stock besides No2 and cai. I have been running a 75 shot that put me in very Very Consistent 13.1 in the 1/4. I plan on running down some imports at nopi this weekend and i want to run my 100 or 125 shot jets! My problem is i have no way of retarding my timing! Will running these jets effect anything in a direct negative way? Or could i run colder plugs to make up for the lack of timing adjustably? If so how cold? And besides detonation what other effects might i run into? If you guys could help me out before tomorrow night that would be awesome. I would like to take care of it tomorrow night so i am ready for sat.
Thanks
Dave
Heres some pics! (Just click on the stang to see the slide show)

If you run 2 steps colder plugs and some race fuel you could probably get away with it. I would check in with some tuners though.

Anybody have anyway for me to pull like 2 or 4 degreese of timing out? Handheld tunner? Im saving up for the sniper special forces software! Then i will be able to adjust-
-Compression ratio
-Low / High fan settings
-Engine idle speed
-Passive Anti Theft
-Fuel Octane rating
-Headers / exhaust
-H / x pipe
-Rear oxygen sensor delete
-Trans shift points
-Trans shift firmness
-Engine rev limiter
-Engine speed limiter
-Tire height / speedo correction
-Gear ratio / speedo correction
-Air Fuel Ratio adjustments (richen/lean)
-Spark advance (+/-)
Range of adjustability (same as Scout plus…)
-Supercharger (Roots & Centrifugal)
-Turbocharger
-Nitrous (wet & dry)
-Injector size
-Returnless fuel pressure setting
-Mass Air brand / calibration
-Intercooler type
-Fuel pump type
-Unlimited number of files can be created

Run the colder plug and 100 Unleaded. Speedway has it at 7 mile just east of I275.
You really really need to make sure you have enough fuel pump.

Go 2 and good fuel and you should be ok. Roll out a little then spray the holy hell out of it. Just learn from the mistakes seen from a white camaro.

Dave, a friend of mine ran his 02 with 125 shot (dry) for 2 years before selling the car to a coworker. The car still runs to this day and continues to run 100 shot regularly. I would suggest running one step colder plug, NGK preferably. Running a higher octane will not help without a tune, also be prepared to by stock in new intakes LOL.

I think i will try it with the 1 step colder plugs this weekend! Do the NGK plugs have a copper core?

I do believe you can get the in copper, you will also need to start running them at .035" gap and work the gap larger until you see spark blowout. IIRC my friend ran his at .042".

Hi if you run 100 octane ful you should be fine if you want to be extra safe then run 2 steps of a colder plug to. But the 100 octane should be fine with onlY a 125 shot. MARK

You could also jet up the fuel side and make it run a little fatter.

Yea, It is a matched set bigger no2 and bigger fuel. Hoping to try the set up this weekend!

What you didn't hear that he's got a variable compression engine and two exhaust systems to switch back and forth from on the flip of a switch.

Yes and with a flip of the gedadder switch and a tweak of the schrumptner valve i should be in the low 9's with a stock short block! I like hugs!

you should be fine, your stock computer "should" pull enough timing on its own, just make sure you dont have platinum plugs ore youll melt a nice hole in your piston. now this is assuming the mustangs have the same leway a LT1 Fbody does, you can make a LT1 eat a 150 shot all day with no timing retard box. you should even be ok on 93 octane, but id run 100 just to play it safe.

Do they make an intake air temp timing tricker for the Mustangs like they do for the f-bodies? We could change the timing table for really cold temps to pull six degrees, then put a switch between the temp sensor and the resistor that faked it to -20.
