Two-Step Question

My roommate has a turbocharged Del Sol that's laying down nearly 300 wheel horsepower. He is trying to get a two-step setup on it for better launches at the track.

Here's his question ---

Is it possible to operate the two step instead of off of a button and on a speed sensor? That way it won't react when the car is rolling down the street.... Suggestions? Ideas? Thoughts?

I don't see why not, but you would need a electronic device to read the speed signal and output a trigger for the 2-step, if i find something, i'll post up a link

or one of the aftermarket ECMs out there that has 2 step features built in, and speed settings can be added to the parameters for 2-step operation

What would be an example of what you are asking about? Just holding a set rpm with the button is how I use it..I was just curious, thanks!

Hondata has it built in but it doesn't cut fuel like he wants so he is not building boost with it. For some reason he doesn't want to use a button, he's trying to keep it sleeper.

Mine is wired off the windshield washer squirter (momentary switch). I just liked where it's located and that it's clean looking.

I didnot have to wire anything, using a AEM EMS.
The unit was a direct plug-n-play replacement for the stock unit.:gr_grin:

I'm running a DSM, dont know about a Honda set-up.

The SCT software uses the VSS to de-activate the two step. It basically is a neutral rev limiter. You simply set the desired rpm limit. The two step is turned off as soon as the vehicle speed is greater than 0.5mph.

I never said SCT did. Besides his question is not even asking who offers a two step program but instead how could he setup the car for it to work.

My point was that he could setup that car similarly to how SCT does......to work off the vehicles speed.
