New guy wiht 1980 Monte build

well seeing im actualy starting to get stuff together for my monte build i figures i mine aswell start a build thread. the project is not under way yet iim gather part and gonna do it all at once hopefully it will be done 4 the woodward cruise.

body: im gonna do some body work when it gets a little warmer out then once thats done its getting painted the same two tone dark blue on light blue wiht a little more metallic. I was thinking about shaving everything but ill see were im at on the money problem when i get that far. i plan on getting a set of 17+ inch rims wiht some mikki street radials.

interior: its getting redone wiht factory colors the dark blue and light blue, i plan on building a custom dash for it wiht after market gauges in it and also getting a better head unit. the trunks gonna have a fuelcell wiht a 10lb bottle sitting next to it

drivetrain:it currently has a tci racing th350 trans in it the trans is only rated to 400hp so i might be needing a new one in the future.I was thinking about buying a 9inch ford set up for it but do to im on a bit of a budget im gonne just build the 7.5 inch for now forged moser axles, posi unit, and for gears i cant decide between goin wiht the 3.73 or a 4.10. im also throwing in a 2500 stall torq converter

motor: i have a 383 rotating assembly over at my dads im currently building should be making around 500hp and 500torq to the crank wiht 10.7:1 compression

-Patiot aluminum heads 64cc 2.02 intake 1.6 exhaust
-crane cam 488-510 lift 234-244 duration
-100 long cromoly pushrods
-7/16 1.6 ratio stainless steel roller rocker arms

-holly 130gph mechanical fuel pump
-double roller timing chain

-3 inch pypes exhaust x pipe wiht dumps and 40 series flowmasters

ok so my altnator, mini starter should be in on monday but i cant figure out what carb i want to put on the car i was thinking about a 770 street avenger would that be a good carb for that motor or should i look into something else

i went and picked up my 770 street avenger and orderd an aluminum radiator, trans cooler, and a dual electric fan set up the parts should be here tommarow or so

the brakes went out on the car so now its just sitting in my garage i need to find a way to get it to my dads to start ripping it apart so i can send it out to get painted ill get some pics later on when we start ripping it apart

the car was from florida thats y the only rust it has is on the door because of bad weather stripping

What ups did you already put in? A little cleaning in the interior and it will rock.

nice lookin monte. my pop had an early 80's monte with a 305 when i was growing up and i loved that car. his was baby blue with a bright red interior. the motor looks real good too. i too went with the 770 but dont know how it will work for me yet but everyone tells me it is a good carb
