~Varsity Ford Car Show May 17th~

We are having a Car Show/Swap Meet here at Varsity Ford on Saturday May 17th. Swap meet starts at 7 a.m. and ends 4 p.m.

All makes and models are welcome. 50/50 raffle for a SBF long block with the proceeds going to Mott Children Hospital. There will be food concessions and music by Rock'n Ronnie<I don't know who this is>

“CLEAN THE D” COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP ON SATURDAY, MAY 17TH

Detroit MI -- The Woodward Avenue Action Association (WA3) is helping to organize a regional clean-up event called “Clean the D” on Saturday, May 17th from 8:00am – 12:00pm. Registration will be held at the Michigan State Fairgrounds at 8:00 am that morning in the Community Arts building. This is a tri-county effort, and other organizing partners include MDOT, Eight Mile Boulevard Association, Ferndale Chamber of Commerce and the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority, with generous sponsorship by T&C Federal Credit Union.

In-kind support is being provided by Affirmations, Beaumont Hospitals, Bloomfield Township, City of Ferndale, City of Pontiac, City of Royal Oak, Coffee Beanery – Berkley, 8MBA Clean Team, New Center Council, Motor City Makeover/City of Detroit, Palmer Woods Association, PIP Printing, Pontiac Grassroots, Recy-clean, Sam’s Club, Van Dyke-8 Mile Gateway Collaborative, Western Market, and Worry Free, Inc.

The WA3 is seeking volunteers for 11 project sites in New Center, Palmer Woods, Royal Oak, Bloomfield Township and Pontiac. Those interested in volunteering for a clean-up project along Woodward Avenue should visit www.peoplemovers.org, a new, local social networking site comprised of individuals and organizations working together to create healthy communities by building healthy relationships through community service. Then follow these steps:

1. Create a profile (all you need is a user name, password, and email address)
2. Click on “Search Groups” and search for “WA3.”
3. Join the WA3 group.
4. Find your clean-up project on the WA3 group page under “Events,” and join.

The WA3 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit economic and community development organization. Its mission is to enhance and improve the visual, economic, functional and historic significance of the 27-mile Woodward Avenue Corridor through public, private, local and regional partnerships.
