Where did you put your BOV? before or after the mass air? What kind is it? You might need to clock it.

how have you setup the boost tables in the PMS? I had an issue similar to this last year and went through the entire boost tables to redo everything. I dont know what numbers I had wrong but after going through it everything was good again.

where Jeff put it, before the MAF, about 6-8" past the intercooler

i havent touched them..... what did you do? just add fuel under boost?

yeah, mine went lean right after getting out of the throttle so I added a little bit, I think I added it in the idle/ light load table too. are you using the idle control with the PMS? if so try tuning without it, it caused all sorts of issues with mine so i just tuned without it.

im assuming you DO have a blow-through MAF then?

You might have to clock the meter since it's not a universal. Imagine air sneaking past the meter and the engine removing fuel when you let off.

Did you get it figured out?

negative ghost rider........
new problems arise too!
when i first tried starting the car, #5 cylinder filled with fuel. i started pulling plugs, when i got to #5 fuel squirted out, which tells me it was under pressure.......not good. i thought the injector was bad, livernois checked it out, comes back good.
i get the car running through PMS problems. runs and drives fine ( unless under boost )
i change plugs and #5 is all wet, looks like new, where the rest are rich/black.
so on advise, i switch #5 injector to #6 hole.
go for a 30min cruise tonight.........pull #5 and #6.............#5 is all wet, #6 looks fine......
any ideas?

no spark in #5??? bad injector, wire,cap/rotor etc?
you should be careful about the fuel loading up in your oil... change it soon

Has the injector harness been messed with in anyway? Are the wires reversed?
Are you sure the #5 spark plug is firing?
When the car is running pull the #5 wire and see if the engine stumbles or no change.
It should have the most draw on the ignition system at idle. You should be able to tell if it's running rough on 7 cylinders.

put a diode light on the #5 cylinder and see if its pulsin gthe injector... It might just have the ground side rub thru to ground somehwere and its on full tilt all the time.

cap and rotor are new, and there is a mark on the inside of the cap on the #5 post ( like the rest of them ) i know "new" is not always good either

Duke went through the harness but i am sure he didnt mess with that. i will look for the wires this morning, but again i am sure he didnt remove the connectors. are you trying to set me up? if i reach down there and pull that wire.....i am now ground.......and that hurts, ask me how i know!

i will see if i can stop at radio shack today.... wouldnt a test light work too?
thanks guys

If a test light won't work, I will be looking to borrow one :-)

They sell the diode lights at autozone and murrys i think there like 10 bucks or something..

oh ok Mr. I almost have 4000 posts.
You should get to work on your car!! Do you want to sell it? I have a rubber check here waiting.

got one, $40!
You may also have a shorted injector driver if its filling up with fuel....I am not 100% sure on the PMS, does that run piggyback on the EEC or in place of, or either I think...?
Ahh, I am thinking EPEC, nevermind.....
Does the PMS have individual cylinder trims? Possibly one is cranked up higher to compensate for shitty airflow to that cylinder...
no indvid cylinder control.
BUT, i got a known good computer from Rob. plugged it in and its the same thing. #5 injector powers up while the others do not. meaning when i have the noid light on each cylinder, when i turn the key on, none of the injectors, EXCEPT #5 get power. #5 gets power for about 4sec, enough that fuel pressure wont build.. i cut open the harness and all the red wires go in to one black bundle.
what am i to do?
no cruise for me tomorrow

i had livernois check the injector, and then switched the injector with another one. same thing #5 only. i am getting the noid light off the harness plug. not the injector.
Anthony
06-27-2008, 06:54 PM
Also, the noid light only stays on for 3-4 sec, not constant on. A short would stay on right?
Anthony

i just traced the wire back to the connector, white/blue not broken and connection looks good.

if grounded it should stay open. although upon powering on the car doesnt the computer power the injectors (+ side) but not ground them to fire? if this is the case you may have a short and the #5 injectors is just wide open whenever the car is powered/ running.
did you try to remove the PMS? just use the stock computer?
Anthony
06-27-2008, 07:32 PM
PMS is not connected.
light only stays on for 3-4 sec then out. and blinks when cranking
my stock ECM and SVTSINR's known good computer

yeah, im wondering if it staying on for 3-4 seconds upon powering is kinda like the fuel pump priming for a second or so.
I wonder if you can see if the injector while running is powering on/off when it should.

I would redo the wiring to the #5 injector. It's getting power or grounding out somewhere.
It worked before you re-wired it.......
Anthony
06-27-2008, 08:31 PM
i just finger banged the whole wire from injector to harness connector, its fine. wasnt rewired, i just changed the salt n pepper connectors. and the same color wire is on both sides of the connector
i believe i win, will find out tomorrow

To verify, put the noid light on a good hole and compare how it acts to what its doing on the questionable hole....
What are we talking about here?
Noah, there is a afterhours forum for this...
