View Full Version : Wet Sanding
I'm looking to wetsand some drums that DannyDodge painted for me and I'm just trying to decide what steps to go in. I can get 1000, 1500, or 2000. Should I just do those 3 in series and buff them out?

First of all why would you want to wet sand Drums? you are better off leaving as much of the paint on their. If you have to rub them I would start with 1500 then go to 2000 and if you can, get some 3000 it will make the rubbing process much easier!

1500 on a DA or 2000 wet by hand, then 3000 wet on a DA (there is nothing inbetween 1500 and 3000 for DA pads) then get a wheel and some decent compound
Drums as in ancient brakes or drums like music?

3 steps is great for a show quality paint job on the body!!! I'm sure it will be great for drums too.
