Alright, my questions might be more for you IRS guys. I went back to the track Friday and my car had pretty bad wheel hop. I don't really feel like snapping halfshafts, and I get 0 hop on the streets. I have heard from a few guys that slicks actually are easier on the halfshafts. The theory is you don't get wheel hop and the slick wrinkling absorbes some of the harshness.
The other theory is slicks = mo grip = mo breakage.
Also this winter I am hoping to pick up some shocks. I am thinking of picking up some dual adjustables so I can set it up for drag racing (soft compression and hard rebound in the rear) then put it back to stock or whatever for road course racing. What do you guys think?

That is a great pic!
Some coilovers would definitely get your front in the air and keep it there. My STi, when in the air, there is less wheel gap than a stock WRX on the ground.

Nice, do you have any pics of that?

Here is one with the old tires (225/30), with the new tires (235/35) it fills the gap better, so it looks better.

I have no advice, but that pic is sick!! Get that front end up and take a pic
my old mustang had wheel hop like a mutha, i thought the t-tops were going to shatter from it.
slicks soved the problem, i didnt make any other suspension changes and my wheel hop went away.

With adjustables, you may want to soften the rebound on the front as well.

U need to set your rear camber few degrees positve, if u look at the pic u have posted, u can see that when the car is transferring the weight to the rear, it kicks the tires out so it causes u to have less tire patch contact on the pavement. By setting the camber few degrees positive than factory specs, you will fix that. i know because i have a vette and it use to have an IRS in it, i was able to get the car to 60 foot in the low 1.3s.
By doing that u bring the lower part of the wheel/tire in more towards the car, and when the car lunches and transfers weight it kicks the tire back out to get more of a contact patch instead of kicking the tire/ wheel out from where it should be and losing contact patch

My own experience with my SRT-4 was that slicks did indeed remove hop. Even the best drag radials would hop but the slicks seemed to "absorb" the energy that might have overpowered the suspension. Of course it's a FWD but I think the dynamics are the same. Maybe some GTO/CTS-v guys can chime in.
As far as breakage I think that depends on the car. 05 SRT's are pretty stout. I bet that German stuff you got is up to the task!

What about more sticky rears, smaller rear's, and coilovers so that you can have a wheelie bitch at the strip and and a autoX king....
