Since boost is built with RPM, the idea would be to overspin the supercharger so peak boost is reached sooner and then hold it there. Anyway to do this with some kind of custom boost controller/wastegate setup on the charge piping? I'd much rather have 7psi from 3,000 RPM on up instead of hitting 7psi @ 5500 RPM.

I can see going down to de-boost a race car for the street, but on going up, aren't you still limited by the max impeller speed? I think you would end up having to run a couple blower sizes bigger than you would normally run.

I'm not really spinning my D1 that fast. If I went down in pulley size, I could get some decent gains under the curve I believe. My concern is getting it to work smoothly so I don't relieve too much or not enough pressure.
As I detaile din my PM. Boost controller "depending on how you wish to control things" and a wastgate are all ya need. Gonna have to run a lighter then normal wastegate spring.

you could just get a roots blower. almost full boost the second you go to WOT

Depending on the relationship between the size, speed, and desired output of the blower, a wastegate or two and a simple controller (manual or electronic) is all you will need. I would just get a two stage controller so you can have a "street/pump gas" boost level and a "race/race gas" level.

With 30% of my engine under my cowl, I'd have to cut....and I'd rather not cut the car up.

only 7psi? I think if you just put some more boost to it you would be fine!
