with a heavy pig like yours 12-15 psi typically.
I run 10.25-10.5 hot (10.5S).

With my car setup with the 5 speed, and a race weight of 3000 lbs, 12.5 psi seemed to work the best. It allowed for just enough slip to give us some wheel speed, preventing it from dead-hooking and dragging the engine down with the diaphragm style clutch. We used a 3055S M/T slick (28x10.5 stiff wall). We were leaving at ~7000 RPM.
Hope this helps.
whats the difference between a stiff wall and wrinkle wall as far as launching is concerned. M/T makes both?
Stiff walls are typically for heavy cars or manuals that hit the tires real hard. They also provide better stability on the big end.
Provided you get equal traction with both tires, the stiff wall will result in better short times since it will propel you forward instead of folding over on itself.

the stiffs are just barely stiffer but like was said work better in heavy or manual cars
with SS slicks I'd going up on tire pressure. 12-15 is in the range most guys run. see any signs of shake in the tire ?
11pounds 29-10.5 tire unless I want a to pull the front end off the ground for pics ill lower it to 9:sagrin:
