I picked up the following to get myself started:
Forced Induction Performance Tuning by A. Graham Bell
Maximum Boost by Corky Bell
There were a few books highly recommended on the forums when I was looking into this a while back. I am sure you can dig some of those threads up. If I get a chance, I will try to find them for ya too.
Engine Management: Advanced Tuning - (Amazon link.)
Heck this is all ya need !Attachment 82227
I'm going to suggest spending more time learning the software itself first, then if you should need clarity with actual tuning, start with literature relating specifically to what you will be tuning [carb, efi, forced induction] .
Don't expect much help from the developers involved with HPT...
Is Bannish still around these parts?

Yes
I went and sat with John Meany. And then my old friend Forehead aka Jason Lee. Then Kim Mapes. Learned more than I can remember if that makes sense.
I got a REALLY good education on bs3 and fast. And speed pro/ fel-pro...... yea I’m old, so what!?!?
Reading and learning is a lot, but watching a master and asking questions and seeing what happens with what is everything.
A book can tell you,but seeing on a dyno what pulse width can do or very simple changes make is awesome.
They was a Cam class at team Z years ago can’t remember the teachers name (too many pops tonight)
He was gliddens flunky..... I learned a lot from that too
