That's a very clean Vette. Everyone hates on C4s but they're a bargain for the cost right now. Being a 6 speed makes it so much better. I want to ditch the auto in the 93 but Im considering doing an LS/manual trans swap down the line.
As for things to look for:
Stress cracks in the lower fenders (driver side has to be removed for battery replacement)
Mono-leaf spring is composite, look for cracks/chips etc, it'll need to be replaced if there's any damages so it doesn't break under load
Squeaks and rattles in suspension, they're pretty simple but costly in parts for the rear axle
Seals, look for dryrot, not sure if that's a Targa Top, but they flex and leak/make a ton of noise
If it's got the Z51(I think) suspension, check for the ability to adjust the suspension settings (I'm not too familiar with this option, my coworkers car had a bunch of costly issues)
All of the digital display and electric controls, there's a lot to go wrong
And lastly, tune-up schedule. The plugs are a pain and wires are virtually impossible.
The C4 is the only Corvette I would drive....But not in yellow! Lol.
I really like the Polo Green ZR1, however, as I understand it they're massive money pits.
I read the title of the thread and clicked thinking this was going to be about transmissions LOL

Looks awesome. Love the color too ;).
The LT1 was a decent motor for the time, but it wasn't the most reliable, and hard to work on.

I like them a lot more now that you can throw an LS engine in. No optispark LT1 mediocre power crap. I like when they have a front splitter and sideskirts, ala Silver State Classic racers. My cousin had a yellow one with the greenwood body kit...loved it!
Also, you can keep the LT1 and convert it to run with an LS ignition to get rid of the opti.
Nice car, but who would ever want that color - oh, wait, never mind.

. My in laws have a yellow drop top 03 and I love the yellow.
I had a 95 corvette and a 96 formula with LT1s. I like the LT1 but if I was going to get another C4 it would be a 96 with an LT4.
Until this thread, I've only seen yellow with dark interiors.
Nice grab!
$7500 is a steal for that car in my opinion. Congrats!
Congrats - looks very clean and a good buy for the price. Good luck with the opti.
I think it looks really good in that color...I know nothing about them though.
Thanks. I think being lowered on the old school zr1 wheels helps the looks a little. 315's out back also helps! Attachment 84812. Now just need to get me some jean shorts and a pair of new balance
Opti in the dry Arizona climate will probably be issue free, just make sure you don’t power wash the engine lol.
Looks great. My dad had a Competition Yellow convertible a while back. it's a great looking color.
What size are the front tires?
I've got 285s on the rear of my 93 and they're at the bodyline. Fronts are 255 and I can't see going any wider. I know the GS had flares for the really wide tires. I need new tires for mine and I'm thinking 305 or 315 might be too wide. 285 is really limited on size. 275 might be too skinny.
Gave her a bath this morning. Car is really growing on me Attachment 84841
This is what the 93 currently looks like with stock tires on ZR1 replicas. The chrome is pitting so I'm considering painted ZR1 wheels, as well as replacement tires (which are much overdue).
Edit: this is the best pic I have of the side profile to show fender to tire fitment.

I'm digging the yellow, the worst part about the C4 is getting in/out of the car lol. That and it's deseptively small and people almost always cut you off(maybe not in a yellow car so much). That and it feels like everyone is irrationally close/tailgating but it's actually due to the rear of the car being a few feet away from your seat-back.
