Totally unprofessional.
None of the staff are appropriately dressed/protected to put out a fire.
What a disaster
Bad look for the folks at Milan. They've had a lot of black eyes over the last few years.
Do those cars have factory master kill switches in them? If not, They should. Did they determine what the issue was that caused the fire? A master kill would have shut the car down and assuredly helped keep damage to a minimum. The track personnel’s response was ridiculous. As a first responder, Im starting to get a love/ hate relationship with that place. Watching really fast cars run without the most basic safety equipment in place is aggravating and it’s starting to wear on my nerves. My entry fee is supposed to ensure that they will take action in the event of a mis-hap. MAJOR fail Milan Dragway. You should be ashamed of your employees behavior in this situation.
Assholeness like that starts at the top. Not to mention that even if you don't care about the car, having a car burn to the ground on the starting line probably isn't the best thing for your track either.

Not sure of their command structure but in my opinion the starting line official should have taken control and started instructing staff on what actions to take.
Looks like trans fluid on the ground, first mistake was hitting it with water, second the first responders were not dressed properly, and the guy with the attitude would be minus a few teeth if that was my car. After last years incident beating that girl up they will never see my money.
Wow. Whole lotta wrong everywhere in that video. Agree with all the above but also don't get the drivers attitude. That situation was begging for leadership and with none forthcoming, and being my car, I'm leading the charge.
see the guy trying to pull start the pump? didnt look like it was starting. You think they would test the equipment startup every now and then.
that sucks for that dude.
People wonder why I left....
The track officials have a duty to act. That's part of what you're entry fee covers.
Wow, that's pretty piss poor on their part. A whole lot of liability being shifted the tracks way based on their lack of action.
The entire video is just gross.. Regardless of the drivers attitude the officials have a responsibility to take care of the racers and the equipment first and then deal with the attitudes after the situation is under control.
I dont give a fuck if Milan sponsors this site fuckin ban me, but that track is run by some very shitty people. The fight last year was enough.
As a Firefighter, this was just too much to stomach!
Just wait till Milan’s insurance company sees this video.
This will make a great First Responder training video of
what NOT to do.
The Milan staff was not trained for such an emergency, did
not have the proper (safe) PPE and put everyone (including
themselves) at great danger & risk.
Last, but not least, the attitudes simply put it over the top,
one of the worse “professional” responses I’ve seen.
I’m sure the car owner is seeking legal counsel, as he should.
Bad stuff.. honestly I wouldn't have done anything until the car was off also. It's probably rule #1. The owner was talking about his mods instead if opening the hood when asked to help. OPEN the hood, don't just pop the lever. He didn't give a damn about that car. Did he not power out of the burnout box properly? Trans parts shoot up into the dash? 9 second car should have a Killswitch. But...I just have a $5,000 car with a big extinguisher in the backseat. I fully expect it to light on fire.

Welcome to Milan Dragway, how may we help you?
Too soon ...
Lol
Since I live under a rock, can someone give me the cliff notes on the fight that happened there? A girl got hot or something?
I don’t know who their insurance company is.
But
I let some people I know and deal with at MIOSHA
I’d expect a MASSIVE fine. And some serious shit to pop off. He didn’t believe me when I described the video.
Safety first.
And the track officials LITERALLY walked away and the owner strolled past the camera with zero concern
Milan Dragway - taking giving zero fucks to a new level!
-Geoff
The women were the owners beating up a patron while there security held her.
Like I said, that kind of behaviour starts at the top.

You know what the difference between the Milan event workers and a jar of mayonnaise is? The jar of mayonnaise knows when to STFU.
It used to be Lapeer was the shitty strip, what happened to Milan? Looks like it has turned into a bunch of dumbasses standing around waiting to go home.
I’ve had run ins with starter Tom and the gray haired dude. About the dumbest shit. I’ve given them shit back. I don’t blame the driver for reacting the way he did. Stressful situation. His expensive car just broke and caught fire. Milan officials need to conduct themselves in a more professional manner. “The customer is always right” to a certain extent. But to Milan, the customer is always wrong and they have the “fuck you, go race elsewhere if you don’t like it” attitude. I’ve dealt with shit from the Baxter’s and the other track officials since I first started racing there at 16.

Fuck Milan. They won't ever get my money again. Last month I went to a bike night there and they wouldn't let me in because they recognized my bike and thought my name was chris. but they wouldn't let me show my license to them or anything for proof that I wasnt they guy they were talking about. So after a small argument of me just trying to prove that I'm not the guy there talking about some chick came and yelled at me to get the fuck out. Fuck that place, let it burn.
I see alot of drag racing diehards with a small fire extinguisher in there cars seems like a good safety measure to have, specially when at milan
