Trying to fit a prostar 15x10 on a 82 stang. Looks like it hits right where the rear spring goes. Not sure I can "modify it any more. Any ideas? I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Whats your back space? Some guys I know run a small spacer(not sure on size) on the 6.5" backspace rim.
i run a 5/16 spacer with a 6.5 in backspace hope that help's ya!
i have done it without a spacer, lots-o-hammerin
a small spacer makes it much easier
They'll fit. I was running Bogarts with 6.25 bs and had to beat just a little. One side needed a small spacer. Now the rear is narrowed 1.5" per side with some Alumastars and a 6" bs...that needed a lot of beating, but now there nice and tucked ;)
yeah they will fit, also when the car is at ride height it helps too. if the rear is just hanging there it will rub bad... but a big hammer and some sweat you will get it... and the spacer will get the rest of it, but its best to try and get it without a spacer...
Here's what it looks like. Was trying to avoid using a spacer if possible.

set the car down, it looks like its just hangin there... that spring area should actually be near the rim area. and the tire should be over that part... lower the car some and it will fit better..
i used a real sledge. you can also heat it up with a torch and push it over also...
So if I'm reading this right a 10" rim with 6.5 b.s. will fit? Do you have to roll the lips to do this?
Well its been hammered for sure but no wheel lip rolling. It just might be somthing I need to do in time. 8" rim with a 28 Et street is not getting good enough 60ds.(1.49-1.5x) Plus if we find the missing HP and it make more MPH I not sure I want to go over 140 on a 8" rim. hehe I'm still learning the car but could never leave over 10lbs of boost off the brake. I'll see what happens next year. I still have a lot to learn with the new combo.
Kewl thanks for the help. Maybe I'll try a new set of ET's 1st sence mine are 3years old. DOH
Cool thanks guys, I'll let you know what I find.
Here's it at ride height. Looks like it time for the BFH!

Make sure you are hitting on the bracing behind the sheetmetal.. not just the sheetmetal. When you start to see the trunk floor buckle form the inside you are getting there. All the seam sealer (Calk) will start to come off where the wheelwell meets the trunk floorpan. Dont be shy with the hammer... it doesnt look pretty but when its mini tubbed in the future it all gets cut out anyways!! Theres not much you can do with the spring area but it shouldnt be anywhere near it when at ride height.
I have 28 10.5's with a 6.5 BS on my car & I have at lease 3/4" between the wheel & wheelwell when at ride height. When the car is jacked up & the rear hanging there it hits the spring area pretty bad.
Just dont be shy with that BFH!! Good luck!
