" Councilwoman Jeanette Ambrose commented that racing is unique and special and thought they had a great plan. She said considering Michigan and Detroit’s history with cars, it’s not a stretch to say that people will be drawn to it – adding homes aren’t special but the race track is and they won’t get another chance at this."
How often do you hear that? Awesome...
sweet. Something this side of Lansing works for me.
If they setup some hot go-karts.... That would be nice. JD karts are fun but outdoors could make a big course! Then track rentals or specific days for bikes, cars, tube chassis... I would definitely participate and maybe spectate a few races.
is it just me or do I see a drag strip ...

This would be great...But, with the amount of tracks that are getting closed down, I think it will be a really tough sell.
I believe there have been a few attempts at these sorts of facilities in the past, only one I can think of is the M5 deal? Not even sure what it's called off the top of my head.
Interesting that they have to pay for it up here, but in Detroit, land is given out for burnouts and drifting events.
Regardless, do it, where do I sign for a Yes vote?
