I don't have tickets, but was going to go for a bike ride down there and check out the protest action. If you see a big guy on flat black Electra, wave me down.

Just saw it on fox 2. 100 people showed up. Lol.
What was this for? Cliff notes....
Sam Riddle and the NAN protesting Kid Rock displaying the Rebel flag during his shows.... Something he stopped doing like 3 years ago.
Sam riddle is an opportunistic piece of crap who should still be in jail.
National Action Network - NAN - Al Sharptons boys -left the park to protest in front of the Arena, and about 100 bikers stood in front of Kid Rocks Restaurant chanting "USA" and stuff like that. The NAN protest, complete with police escort and press entourage - had to wait on the bridge over I75 for about 20 minutes for the bikers to wrap up and leave. Then the 50 or so that were left marched to the north gate on Woodward and stood there chanting ridiculous stuff - Fuck Trump, Fuck Kid Rock, Build Schools not Arenas, Fuck the Q Line, pretty much fuck everyone that they didn't agree with. I give credit to DPD for making sure the two crowds didn't mix. That could have been ugly.
Kind of glad I went down there. It is interesting to see what actually happened relative to what the media showed. The bikers didn't have a police escort. The NAN guys had about 10 cops in front clearing the sidewalk, and four cars following along on Woodward. Way more Bikers than NAN people too. At least double. I think they had a bigger crowd and march earlier - that is what they were showing on the news. They were just marching around that park though, not the arena.

So basically a big waste of time that's going to make a difference. Bunch of losers. Was bobblehead sharpton there?
No Al, and the guy leading the protest took off on a golf cart before they started marching too. I guess he doesn't get his hands dirty.

Thanks for the eyewitness account Geoff. I don't generally watch the news but I'm guessing most reporting won't mention the bikers, or if they do, it will only be 2% of the report.
The new report I saw just said the bikers "never showed up" other than driving by and revving their engines. I also saw a headline that said that there were about 500 people protesting Kid Rock. So neither were totally true.
I can think of nothing dumber than this current Kid Rock situation.
Have black kid, cut your teeth making music that idolizes black culture, relentlessly promote 85% black city and its residents...but for fuck's sake if you say or do anything opposed to prevailing liberal orthodoxy of the day (and I literally mean the "day" because it changes daily), and you are a racist white nationalist piece of shit and you'll get the Detroit Free Press claiming your show's message is "negro go home."
I am not a fan of Kid Rock's music, but he seems like a totally reasonable and regular dude, and what they are trying to do to him is unconscionably stupid.
in pic 6 of the mlive link, u think he knows the Z is backwards on his sign?

It is confusing because the protest where they walked down Woodward was early in the afternoon, and they might have had 500 people for that, I wasn't down there that early. They were done by 5 or so. So yea, no bikers there for that because they were still at work. When the bikers were there, it was about 7 pm and most of the other protestors had gone home. The few NAN protestors that were left walked back to the arena and that is what I saw.
Credit to NAN - they were highly organized professional protestors. They had private security, police escorts, and a huge media presence. The biker thing was pure grassroots. Just a bunch of patriots showing up for a concert.
