How do you like it? I've been intrigued but don't know anybody with it yet.

I've heard the Google mesh wifi works well, but I don't like the Google-portal dependency (what if they stop supporting it, a/k/a beta), nor do I trust Google, given their rep, for not monitoring my network traffic.
You definitely have to go in and set some privacy settings, otherwise they monitor the crap out of your usage. Nice thing is, it's easy to do and you can block them from pretty much everything. Bad thing is that you have to do it in the first place.
As for how it is, it's great. 3500 square foot in my two levels that are finished and I went from having fringe areas with not so great coverage (AC1900 netgear) to having great coverage throughout the house without worrying about dropping. The one thing I don't like is the inability to configure. I haven't been able to find a DMZ setting or any type of QOS that isn't short term. You can set a device to be a priority for a certain amount of time, but you can't set rules to control areas of your network to do certain things. So it's pretty restricted. It's like Apple built this one as normally Google just gives you the bare minimum needed to function and expects you to do the rest.
Have you looked into the eero? I've got the 3 unit setup and has been great. No dead zones in my house.
Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, or go home. I have a Mikrotik RB2011 and WAP AC, I get great coverage everywhere on my parcel.
