I did a bike last week, but it's a commissioned X-mas gift so I can't show it off for a while.

some random welds I've messed around with recently(these 1st 2 look cool viewed big, check them out here):

Ever seen an Iron Cross like this?

No catchy tag, just tig welds.

I'm at MCC to get some more certs. They've always got a bunch of projects going on

Here I did some build up on a bulldozer wheel. It was worn in the middle on both sides where the track rides. I took two 1/8" rods, put them together, and did a weave with the tig torch.

    some aluminum

Trying to get back in the groove of arc welding, just running some horizontal stringers here:

Welding class ended up being a cluster@#$@. BS politics and mis-communication between the school, union, and company and of course the worker gets caught in the middle. Ended up doing spray transfer pulse welding in a matter of days as opposed to weeks. It was a process completely new to me, and I'm still not a fan. We did Vertical and Overhead, 1" armor K plate, checked by X-Ray to military standards. Everyone I did passed, so I was happy. Setting the machines was such a pain, everything was so finicky. Sometimes it ran great, other times you couldn't run 2" without problems. But at least I know that even with everything running like crap I can still make a weld that passes.

No pics of that, but I when I found out they passed I decided to do the same plate with stick. I used this bad ass old Lincoln SA400

It's so freaking smooth. I did a 1" thick plate with a K joint using 5/32" 8018 electrodes. It's hard to see in the pic, but the root pass came through the back side really nicely. I need to get a bigger shop so I can start collecting some of these machines

    The back of the root:

    front finished

    back finished

Then this weekend I finished up a couple of commissioned Christmas projects.

I made another thread for this piece: http://www.motownmuscle.com/forums/s...ield-Sportscar

I did this one a few weeks back, but just got word that the "eagle has landed"

It was a commissioned gift for a guy that's building a bad ass Yamaha xs650 bobber.

Some pretty cool details on this one. Check it out if you get a chance. http://www.flickr.com/photos/browndo...7625513229999/
