There are no two sides. There is only an inept cop who doesn't value other people's lives enough to think before shooting, or at least enough to be careful when pointing the weapon he is supposed to be trained on. Now a man is paralyzed for doing something that every single member of this site has done before. I hope the cop gets raped daily.

yeah, i doubt they take too kindly to power-tripping cops. Glad he didn't get off easy because he's an officer, they forget that their job is to protect, not to go around showing everyone who's boss

Just watched the dash cam vid again. The guy stopped fairly quickly -- i.e. he wasn't running. He was doing the right thing. Lights / siren went on at 3:47 in the clock on the top right, dude is stopped by 3:58, and then shot at 4:09. In the 22 seconds that everything went down, I'm more convinced than ever that the cop should be sentenced to the max. It's just more and more bullshit the more I watch.
