Default looking to do my bay

looking to do the bay on my 79 notch. the rest of the car will be painted next year, but since the previous owner decided to take it to bare metal I have to do something quick here. I was thinking I like the old muscle car egg shell black look, but can not find it anywhere. I was also thinking of going to automotive color and having them give me a matching primer sealer and black base coat and shooting it without clear.

    anyone have any ideas ?

I really don't want to rattle can, unless someone had an extraordinary experience with a product.

Well shooting it basecoat without clearing it would be wasting your time, Clear is the protective layer and just about anything that gets on the base coat without clear over it will destroy it. Any paint store should have some hot rod black paint in somehting cheap, But what I would really recommend would be to buy some decent single stage paint and use some flattening paste to acheive your desired sheen. Make sure to etch or epoxy prime all bare metal before you paint also

Eastwood Company has a really good underhood black its a rattle can but it sprays on nice and thick and leaves no paint lines. I used it on my chevelles engine bay and couldn't be happier
