Some simple steps can help extend the life of those..... Regular fluid & filter changes/ HP Tune for the transmission/ On some models they have a thermal block to loop the transmission cooler lines that does not open till 190ish degrees...
They sell some easy to install bypass kits that keeps the operating temps lower and extends life.

The 6l90 in my 07 Denali had 220,000 miles on it, no issues, towing my camper, pulling a loaded dump trailer, even pulled some stuff found on road dead places too.

The 6l80 in the half tons are the weaker sibling.

From what I can the converter clutch fails then takes out everything . The material gets in the pump which is actually part of the bell housing . A couple places have found a way to machine the bell to fix them but not many. I’m kinda looking for an older truck and if it has a 6 speed I would pull it and have gone thru or at least put a better converter in.
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

I'm at 191k on my 6L80 in my 09 Escalade. Still pulls my heavy ass trailer with my GN with no issues.

Not sure I posted this one before, but I'm calling it "done" for the time being. Just got some new glass on it. I just need to time the muzzle device and rocksett it.
