I shipped my Mach 1 reliable from canton mi to phoenix enclosed. $1100 from warehouse to warehouse. The driver called me when he was outside Toledo, said it was the last car on first off. He also called the second day letting me know where he was at. Two days after drop off I picked it up. Best service I have ever received

I've heard MANY nightmares about car shipping. If i ever did it I think i'd do the cell phone tracker trick and hide it someplace in the car so I could have some idea where it's at.

Ecobee smart thermostat. https://www.amazon.com/Ecobee3-Therm...ywords=ecobee3 I just had a new AC installed a week ago and figured I'd dump the cheap Honeywell programmable and get with the 21st century. DTE gives you a $75 rebate when you purchase a smart thermostat and Consumers $50. I'm not sure if you can get both rebates, but it's worth a try lol

Some of the major shippers are now offering real time tracking with the vehicle.

Just as an example of how bad shit can be, a buddy of mine once shipped a white Ferrari 458 he sold a couple hours away. Car didn't show up in time. Customer was like "WTF." Car eventually shows up, and I am not making this up, the shipper had obviously taken the car off and damaged it, then attempted to paint it himself and deliver it to the customer. It wasn't a small amount of paint or damage. It was a ton. And the car had rattle can spray paint over spray and huge glops of paint drips all over it. Needless to say, it didn't go unnoticed.

I got both rebates a couple years ago. At the time it was $150 total between DTE/ Consumers for a smart thermostat and I paid just over $100 for a sensi Wifi unit. Made about $50 out of it.
