I picked it up at 8pm last night. It's technically on loan but I intend to buy it. Only reason I wanted to drive it a bit before I sign was because I'm hesitant of the 2.7. So far it seems woeful from idle -1500 rpm when the turbo spools. Kinda rattly like a typical 4 banger. It does spool quick and at fairly low RPM however. The 8 speed does a good job keeping it in the power band.

Mileage doesn't seem to be appreciably better than 5.3 with DOD so far, but time will tell on that.

I think that off-the-line slowness is in the predictive throttle programming. Even in the 5.3 I start off on the line then it is almost like it stalls in the intersection after the shift and have to hit the gas again. It probably saved them 0.001 Miles per gallon on the EPA mileage test to set it like that or something...

Me three. They needed the colored bars and bumper. When it was all black from the hood down it just didn't look right. That is a great color too.

No, it's definitely turbo lag. It's woeful until it builds some boost, you can hear the turbo spool. Thankfully it does so at fairly low RPM's.

Thanks guys, I agree shadow grey + monochrome is where it's at.

My landlord side business has been doing well enough that myself and my partner brother decided that we can afford new F150's. It's a 2 year lease. The best part is that I will always be driving a new vehicle and not the relics that I have been driving forever. Standard lease setup, 2.7L XLT sport. Great driving truck. Unbelievable the power that comes out of that tiny motor. trk1 (2).jpg
