    Default s10 rear end problems

a couple weeks ago i replaced the c clip on my pass side axle shaft. well last night the same clip broke again. i have not been beating on the truck for the most part, just been cruising. could there be something bent/tweaked that would cause this to keep happening? its an 83 s10 with the stock 10 bolt 3.73 rear. any input would be appreciated. thanks

ok i did some investigating and im leaning towards the cross pin being worn down or the side gears being worn. seems to be a common problem with the drum brake 10 bolts

Did it make any abnormal noises after the repair?

Is it locking in place? No debris in the way?

when i put it all back together the first time everything was locked in and i rotated everything a few times with the dif cover off to check if anything was going on. everything seemed normal. the side gear is something ive read a few times about going bad. i found a complete rebuild kit for around 150 and it comes with everything i need.
