Those KG 3.5s are very nice. I know the guy that owns em, hes one of the best tube amp designers/builders in the business.

Whats the deal on speaker wire and how important is it? Im about to move my reciever and the rest of my equipment 40" away from where it is now. What is the importance of good wire? I have your typical 12 gauge from radio shack now. It might be monster cable, Im not sure.

Wire can be a very touchy subject for some. Some guys swear by it, and some think its a gimmick. Im in the gimmick crowd, mostly because Im too cheap to put money towards it. Id rather allocate my resources in things like amps, speakers, or source components. Different wires work better with different kinds of speakers. If youre running higher powered solid state or large multiway speakers, thick stranded wire is the way to go. If youre using efficient single driver speakers, or speakers with a minimal crossover, thin solid core is the way to go. I run 20AWG intercom wire on my Electro Voices. Thinner wire has more resistance. Tube amps love resistive loads, so they match up well together. Of course this is all purely subjective, so your mileage may vary.

Im going to look at these later.

Im hoping theres something good in there. With cabinets like that, Im expecting Altec Lansing, JBL, or Electro Voice. Could be junk in there too. Lets see what I find .

Damn...nothing good. Theyre Fishers . Speakers were never Fishers strong points. If they had some Fisher receivers from the same era, Id be happier than a pig in shit right now

Re-foamed possibly, worth a look if someone is looking for a pair.

Somebody pleeeeease go grab these...like yesterday! Them La Scalas hardly ever come up that cheap. Hell, the other pair on CL have a $1400 asking price.
