Sweet. Thanks for the Akai link. The thing last worked sometime in '80 when I accidentally knocked it over. Mom was pissed. This should be fun trying to revive her old, no vintage, audio equipment.

Open reel tape sounds crazy good. Seriously, you cant find that kind of sound quality unless you spend big money on a turntable and standalone phono preamp. The higher the IPS (inches per second), the better the sound. The only drawback to open reel tape is the work involved in playing the tape itself. It would also be a good idea to have the tape heads cleaned and degaussed.

You obviously know I'll be down for some speaker wire... Kyle has a nice pair of energys that I could have him bring over for more testing.

I will obviously pay for the stuff, its the 100 hours a week of work I cant get around, lol.
