we are trying to get our new house now and i sold my bike and put the money away cause i told the wife if i sell my bike I'm building a movie theater in the basement and i want it to be bad ass, i love how u did that, its what i was thinking about with the seats, i wanted it to be up higher, if u don't mind me asking about how much for something like that start to finish?

I paid less than $1,000 for the projector from ABC Warehouse

The screen is a matte white high contrast, Da Lite, the picture is unbelievable. People that come over can't believe it's a projector.

I guess it all depends on the type of audio/video you are going to go with because there is so much out there.

You could spend $800-$20,000 on a projector and then screen you could spend $75-$5,000 for.

The chairs I ordered online for like $1,600, projector $1,000, screen $180, Dennon receiver was like $600 speakers $400, then HDMI cables and wires maybe $100.

The riser I built and cost about $75 with the rope light but I had carpet and pad left over also.

I can tell you that I learned a lot from AVS forum: http://www.avsforum.com/ even with building the riser these guys had so many "how to do's" and a spreadsheet to calculate how tall the riser should be.

Just feels good when you do something yourself and you and your family can enjoy it, I'm up there all the time watching football and hockey!
