Actually the RG33 family of vehicles (manufactured by BAE) consist of 4x4s and 6x6s. And there are different versions of 6x6s with different rear suspensions. Base 6x6s had leaf springs and the Plus/HAGA Plus/Panther have a walking beam in the rear. The 4x4s are SOCOM vehicles and there are Base (A0), A1 & A1 with independent suspension. And now, all 262 of the 4x4s have been converted to independent suspension. I've been working on them for almost four years.

They must of missed a few overseas then, haha. We still had leaf spring max pros to an those we're all supposed to be converted to.

Yeah...a lot of products (all brands) are getting the Oshkosh TAK-4 suspension, or the one from Meritor.

The TAK 4 on the Mat-V's cost the government $15,000 a piece. Included new shocks, tires, all 4 seats, improved belly armor system and RPG netting.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1348850346.986005.jpg

I would drive the shit out of that thing... I wouldn't care how many gallons of diesel it takes at idle...

We had a 60gallon tank on it we filled every other day. He had 3 LMTV's an 3 FMTV's
This was a fun one to winch out! An LT wanted to shithook (chinook air lift) it out. Guess it weighed to much though.

That upgrade was mostly focused around the up armor package from what I heard. Those vehicles were originally built with the TAK-4 suspension. It was one of their big selling points. Funny how a 3.3 billion dollar contract buys you vehicles that don't pass the blast test.
