It looks like a carbon fiber access panel? But looks like you are going to weld in place???? I don't get it...sorry for my ignorance.
it's a kevlar piece and they made it so it can be unbolted so i can get to the pump again easier.

thats what i thoght also........kleco pins
ordered a tubular k-member and solid motor mounts from MWC, should be here in the next week some time. one step closer.
in edition to the things i have listed, is there anything else i'll need that you can think of?
- LS1 steering rack (i'd like to go manual, i think. but i have a feeling smaller steering wheel+315s in the front+ manual rack is going to be rough. a stock LS rack is probably cheaper too)
- F-body engine wiring harness (have one from the truck already)
- F-body alt bracket
- F-body oil pan
- LS fuel rail
- LS/T56 bell housing/input shaft/front plate
- Clutch and flywheel (may be getting one from a friend for cheap)
- Headers
- Corvette fuel pressure regulator

What's the overall goal here? I'm a big LS fanboy, but are you planning to put an iron 5.3 in and shoot for 400 NA?

No goals really at this point. Just to build something I can beat the hell out of on the weekends and it still fire up the next day. I like to Auto-x now so I want to keep it handling good but once I start making some power and get a rear end under it it will be used for 98% street/drag racing.
Once it's done I'd like it to be a 5.3 with H/C/I and spray and to be around 450-500whp, but that won't be any time soon. I'd like to get a cam in before the 5.3 goes in, then will deal with heads at a later date. Already have a 100 shot on the LT1 so I'll be switching that over to the LS when it's in.

I wouldn't mind having the a ability to pull the front wheel, that's kind of a goal I guess.
