    It should work, my dog knew that the couches were off limits well before he was allowed alone with them in the house. Took a few years. He also always had a window to see outside, starting with his first room, the kitchen. I assume that helps, could be wrong. If anything it keeps him entertained barking at stuff outside.

    Dont use rawhide, worst thing for dogs they cant digest that stuff and if the bite off a large piece and it gets in their intestine you have to have them operated on to have it removed.

    Not to mention where most of them are made and the chemicals used to make them can be very harmful.

    I support the crate training. My old dogs were 2-3 before we got rid of the crates. Like everyone said, the crate is their safe place. And it will keep them from damaging your house and potentially hurting themselves in the process.

    Thanks for all the tips guys, greatly appreciated.. my parents never let me have dogs when i was a kid, now i got my own place i got 2! haha
