this however does seem like good news for michigan fans. if he's not going to be traded it seems obvious where he would be headed.

Chicago has a list of potential coaches and Harbaugh isn't on the list. Miami is out. Looks like the Jets or Oakland are the likely opportunities left for him in the NFL unless something dramatic happens.

San Fran is in a Pickle, if they want to trade him they cant really do anything until March, If they fire him they have to pay him his last year of the contract, but they can hire a new coach right away.

I'm so intrigued that UofM would want him so badly....yet its being discussed that he will be fired from SF. Why would anyone fire a guy of his caliber if he is so great?

alot of this is story telling heard by someone who is supposedly close to the situation. He isn't getting along with upper management. his style of coaching is more he runs the show and it's not meshing well with the top brass. Supposedly the deal with UM gives him autonomy over the football program and will either give him strong say in the next AD or Hackett will become permanent. Hackett is already expected to last more than 2 years based on Schlisels statements. He's proven in the college world to maintain high academic standards while having massive results on the field. 2 things the president and the AD want. A recent study showed the hiring of Harbaugh will net UM 60 million. That's a lot of coin to be passed up.

I couldn't complain at all if Narduzzi went to Pitt. I think Harlen Barnett would be moved up to DC internally. I have confidence that a team system is in place.
