My girl has a CPO GMC Terrain. She has had it in twice for the same issue. It makes a rattle noise that sounds to me like it could possibly be a heat shield, or at worse, something inside the transmission.
They replaced her wheels hubs because she had a noise on the highway and they claimed they fixed the rattling sound.
It rattled since the day she picked it up. So she took it in again today and they had the car for a couple hours but said they weren't able to figure it out so they said to bring it back tomorrow.
She is asking me if they are just telling her to keep coming back so they can keep on billing GM. I assume that GM would build in safeguards and wants to get the car fixed and out of their hair so they can move onto other work but she is wondering if they just keep milking the fixes so she keeps having to go back. They want her to bring it in again tomorrow but they do not have a loaner available so it's more of a hassle, as she needs a car.
Any idea how that end of the business works? Is it really that hard to fix a rattle?
