    Default LS1 Starter wiring ???

I am at the point of wiring up the starter. I have a few questions. Can I run a 4 gauge wire from the + side of the battery to the big lug on the starter and then run the wire from my control panel to the solenoid on the starter? It seems that this set up should work but it seems like it I am missing something else? What is the best way to do this job? any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!!

that will work, not optimal, might show low voltage at the control panel when cranking

Thank you for the schematic. I want to put it in the fender well or maybe behind the cowl where the wiper motor was. Where did you place your's on your car?

On my silver notch when i got it there was no dash on it so we put the solenoid, relays, 6al box and coil on the inside firewall passenger side ....also i like not having coils on the valve covers....
