    Default Project GMC Dually Upgrade

Here we go, a racing buddy needed to have his failing transmission removed and beefed up to handle more horse power and increased capability of towing more load.

    The patient:
    1993 1-Ton with a pitiful 454 BB.

The prepping of the damaged weak link a 260 pound gorilla.

The beast out after a little tugging and pulling.

    Motor naked ass end.

Next up the motor scheduled for removal.

Leaning towards a crate motor...... Chevy's 572 power plant.

That's what you get when it's sheltered from weather and mainly used as a race car tow rig. I was amazed at how clean the transmission was and the general lack of rust through out the under belly of the truck.

I can see that happening, this is not my project, but I can tell you my buddy would be very interested in the possibility.

I do know he is looking into replacing the ECU and TCU with a holly ECU set-up. As soon as he pulls the trigger on the motor and ECU I will be happy to let you know and the two of you can hammer the details out.
