Dog seizures

My friend had an issue with his dog and seizures. Turned out it was a vitamin B deficiency. If her Vit B got too low she would possibly have a seizure. They ended up giving her a shot every month and no more issues. Maybe talk to another vet or other animal specialist.

We just got into using essential oils and I know they have a lot for animals too as we were introduced by our dog chiropractor after our one dog twisted her hip in surgery. Long story short we originaly had a corn removed from her foot. Now we use an oil when they come back and no more surgery. Much more affordable and a lot less risk for the dog. If I remember, I will check the books later to see what it suggests for seizures.

My guy is on the vets table, getting fluid and liquid seizure meds. We counted 15 seizures last night... it got out of control way too fast for epilepsy(in my opinion).

We couldnt get the money for an emergency care around here.
I think he is between a possible tumor or has a wiring issue. I dont think there is much I can do, besides have him be comfortable. Vet should be calling me within the next couple hours with a status update.

Sorry to hear. I hope he pulls through. When I was growing up my lab had seizures but they were only once a year or so. It was scary as hell being a little kid and seeing your dog go through that.

Hoping for the best for you and your pup. My wife's sheltie had seizures occasionally, and peanut butter, of all things, did the trick to get them to snap out of it. Have you tried changing food yet? It might be worth changing the protein he's eating.Also, what about introducing a dog multivitamin to him daily? Hope this helps.

I was forced to put him on the drug because of his cluster, without it he wouldn't be here. We were willing to try the cannabis oil, but if we take him off the drug his next seizure will be bad.
Thank you guys, I didn't expect that night to escalate so quickly or else I would have tried your ideas. At this point, he's loopy and as long as the Doctor gets his BM? level figured out(monthly bloodwork) she can save his liver from this drug.

My dog used to have seizures due to protein sensitivity/overload. Which took 2 years to figure out....

Now I feed her wellness or blue buffalo with less than 20% crude protein and cut out "GREENIES" and she has been good for the last 12 years.

Stay on pheno, have blood work done regularly to check kidney function.
There's another drug out but is needed to be given 3x/day

You can try cannibis oil but there's no clinical evidence that says it works in dogs.

Huge bump.

I lost my best friend today. His clusters came back and he was having issues recovering from then. We could never find the issue, we did blood work, phenobarbital(we took him off of it over a year ago), potassium bromide, food changes, salads, treat changes, organic cleaners, a different house.

He still had 1 every 4-6 weeks, the past three months he was having 2 every 3weeks. We had one good 6 month run without any seizures, and that was with the help/suggestions of Motown.

It was one of the hardest things my wife and I have had to do as a couple. I said goodbye to him a long time ago, but this weekend he was just acting like a blank slate/empty shell so I didn't really get to say goodbye.
