Ford Chrysler or GM it doesent matter to me as long as its domestic.
Plenty of people move up north after they retire. One guy who used to work with us moved to the UP and loves it up there. They just don't talk about it endlessly like people down south.
I'm going to Ft Myers for a long weekend in a couple of weeks and not looking forward to the constant "How cold is it back home?" conversations with my father-in-law's friends down there. Personally, I hate it when it gets warmer than 82*. 95* with 99% humidity in the Carolinas in summer? No way. 110* in the shade in Florida or Texas? No way in hell. I'll take a cold winter as long as we have a nice mild summer with a minimum number of days over 85*.
