    Because one could buy a very similar car off the showroom floor and drive it home back then. Now the cars resemble their manufacturer counterparts in looks only, everything else is different.

    Because it was.....Drivers had big personalities, and were allowed to show them. Everything is so homogenized these days. Even Supercross, which I used to love to watch, has become b-o-r-I-n-g.....

    I agree 200%. I LOVED watching back when McGrath,Larocco,Stanton,Kiedrowski,Ward, Lusk, etc. were all a blast to watch. Now it's "I wanna thank Monster blah blah blah" and the outcome isn't much of a shocker.

    Exactly.....Even when Ricky, Stewart, and Reed were battling it was much better....

    I loved the 60's 70's cars because they started with a body in white and built the car
    Even the " original " Funny Cars " started as stretched versions of road cars and the body dimensions
    Remained close now they are bubbles too
