Mustang Trans Shifter Clip?
I am such a lightweight, I知 trying to replace my stock auto trans
shifter. In my 2006 Mustang GT. As you can there is a white plastic
clip that holds the trans cable to the shifter. I can稚 figure out how to
disconnect this thing!
The plastic feels kind of brittle, I知 afraid I知 going to break it. It
Is harder to reach than it looks from the photo. Any ideas how to
remove this clip? Or do I simply have to by a new one?

The entire thing just prys off the shifter , the clip that you see there is the adjuster clip, that said, I'll look around at work on Tuesday

Bill, that piece is only serviced with the shift cable. Although the cable is quite cheap, (as shift cables go), you'd be looking at Wed. before I could get you one, plus the hassle of changing it out.
according to my parts book it serviced under the trade in on a challenger part
Dear Lord what have I got myself into!
That stupid little clip isn't simply removable?
I wasn't expecting this, my car is currently
disassembled. All I was trying to do is replace
my factory shifter with another one.

Well thanks to Mr. Highemhigh talking me threw, the shifter is out of the car!
That was the good news. The bad news is a 2006 & a 2008 Mustang shifter
is NOT the same and NOT interchangeable. I'll post photos to show the difference
later.
So my choice is pay $200 & buy a new one or somehow repair the old one.
I'm trying to fabricate a part to fix now, will see if "desperate poor fix" wins over
"pay & be done with it"
