    Default Distributor gear

Anyone use the polycarbonate gear? I used the Everwear gear from lunati. Well, it lasted about 1,000 miles before it disintegrated.

Is the cam walking too much? Oil pump cocked the hex shaft throwing off gear mesh angle (assuming oil pump is driven off the distrib) ?

I have a Poly Gear in my BBC. Has been in there for 4 seasons now. No issues and no signs of wear at all 2 years ago.

That's what I wanted to hear! Any opinions on running the high volume oil pump I have a deep ford motorsports pan, a remote oil filter mounted on inner fender and an oil cooler in front of the radiator. The system runs 9 quarts. 10/30 Mobil 1 synthetic. Will the standard oil pump work? I'm spinning to 7,200 rpm. I've also been told to drill a .020 hole in the lifter galley oil plug to spray oil on the distributor gear. I just don't want to pull the motor again for a toasted distributor gear. Thanks.

How much actual run time/miles within the 4 seasons/2 years?

Probably 2-3000 miles and 3 trips to the track, so not a bunch really.

What's your rod and main bearing clearance. If you run to tight with a hi vol pump it will eat gears left and right
