I believe the 4L80E in my 06 2500HD GMC is going.. started out it threw a CEL, code was trans component slippage. So I dropped the pan fluid was clean not burned up.. tossed in a new filter and fresh fluid.. light still comes back.. I had heard the speed sensor on the trans can go bad and cause this so i replace them just to be sure.. still there. i can clear the light and drive from westland to Taylor 275-94 and it wont come on til the trip home sometimes 2 trips but once i drive at freeway speeds and get off to side streets it shifts SUPER hard until i shut the truck off and start it back up.. I took it to a trans shop recommended by a co worker and he told me its the Torque converter lock up.. and i could have them replace the pump, converter and solenoids or just have it rebuilt for a little more.. anyway that co worker no longer works there and for reasons I wont mention i don't trust his word or his recommendation of the shop.. I have no interest in tearing the trans apart my self and id like to get another opinion.. maybe a shop that will actually test drive it?
