Sorry to read this Josh...They got my SS in January and there is no way it sucks any less, probably more for us car guys. I cannot say how much time after was spent looking for 'sleepers' so I can have what I want in a car but not the worry of it getting stolen.

It doesn't stop at 8 mile, crime just lives south of 8 mile all over the city of Detroit. I live in Grosse Pointe Park, and our cops sit along the border all day long to keep the crime from getting in. When someone gets killed in my city, it is national news (google Jane Bashara if you don't believe me). When someone gets killed in Detroit, it is just another day. Big difference.

A majority of the people living in Detroit have this weird apathy. I mean for example, how come nobody picks up the trash in front of their house? There is trash blowing everywhere you go. People in my city pick up the trash, they care about their city. People in Detroit just keep waiting for someone else to do it. I volunteered on a clean up crew last year around Cody High School. While I was trimming bushes in front of a vacant house, the next door neighbor, said "Thank you" which he followed up with "I have been waiting for someone to do that". Get your ass off the porch and do it yourself then was what I was thinking. But nobody does get off their ass - there is an expectation that somebody will do it for them. But that is what 50 years of liberal democrats does for a city like that, they have expectations that everything is someone else's problems and refuse to get involved. Heads up Detroiters - time to get involved!

Geoff there are many Detroiters that do clean and care about their city, they are just overwhelmed by the majority that are dependent as you said.
