I just took it to another place down the street and they just took it without any issues. I think it was $60 for the new one on exchange

Just stopped at Airgas yesterday to fill a small bottle for a buddy. $40.45 because the tank was expired and $47.39 for a new filled bottle (small, 14.238 lbs)...oh, and don't forget the $5.35 "Hazmat Charge".

Maybe I'm out of touch, but it all seemed a bit steep to me.

The old tank couldn't have been recertified? Just about 100.00 for a small tank + fill does seem nuts.

I'm sure it could have, but it was simply a swap for a filled tank. Total was $96 and change.

I was able to get my tank filled with no issues. Only cost $37 for a 143 size tank.

and usually they don't care about the name on the ring, as far as I know they all end up going back to where ever the tank came from, if still in business
